Verde: Energy Efficiency Experts partner with Tackle box to tell brand’s story
CHICAGO – Verde: Energy Efficiency Experts works with Chicago-based creative agency Tacklebox to define brand’s story and develop its brand manifesto.
Startup company Verde has a unique story to tell. The company started its humble roots when the owner, then firefighter, Jamie Johnson realized he could save the fire department money on their utility bill by retrofitting light bulbs to more efficient LEDs. Jamie slowly built on this concept, contracting customers and handling everything from sales to installation himself. He did this all with the belief that he could help create a more sustainable city, bulb by bulb, by working with Chicagoland small businesses.
In 2010, Verde: Energy Efficiency Experts was established. Since then, Verde has been able to extend its reach as a trade ally to ComEd, working to assess small businesses and other organizations that may benefit from rebates and incentives utilizing ComEd’s Energy Efficiency Program.

The Verde manifesto, created by Tacklebox, is a go-to guide for brand standards, content creation, and is a one-stop guide to communicating with the press, potential clients, partners, and investors. One method Tacklebox used to create this unique brand positioning was to take a deep dive into our current customer relationships with interviews that helped understand how our customers feel about us – and more importantly – why they feel that way.

Verde plans to utilize the manifesto to build out its digital and print marketing presence. Verde also wants Chicagoland organizations to be more aware that there is a good deal of money and rebates available to them if they can demonstrate an investment in energy efficiency.
